Digital Channels Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. The platform has recommended to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Updates Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Stories Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
